Bryanna is centered in the photo. They are smiling and wearing glasses with their light brown hair resting on their shoulders. Behind her, a green and brown nature scene is blurred out. They are wearing a blue t-shirt which allows one to see just the wisp of a tattoo on their inner left arm.

About
My name is Bryanna Cassidy, pronouns she/they. I’m a pre-licenced counsellor of mixed European descent, living as an uninvited settler on the traditional and unceded territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples.

I bring lived experience as a queer, neurodivergent (AuDHD), and disabled person, shaped by relationships and connection within non-monogamous, kink, academic, and creative communities. My work is shaped by these lived
experiences, and by a deep respect for the ways people make sense of themselves in a world that often misunderstands or resists complexity. I’m passionate about supporting others who are navigating identity, community, contradiction, and becoming. I also love to support folks in exploring culture, migration, and intergenerational expectations, as well as those moving through the tender, layered experiences of pregnancy, childbirth, and caregiving.

I value integrity, curiosity, creativity and connection. As a counsellor, that means that I show up as my authentic self, take a non-judgmental, neuro affirming and culturally responsive approach, prioritize informed, collaborative consent, and
work with people to co-create a counselling experience that is in alignment with their values and goals. It’s important to me to create an environment where people feel free to be as and where they are, without pressure to perform or filter
their experience.

Working through a disability justice and queer theory framework, I bring in elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Parts Work and Somatics. I believe that so much healing can happen when we are able to contextualize our experiences, find safety within ourselves, and connect to our environment and community.

During my free time, I love to meander through the forest, splash along the shoreline, or experiment with new crafting techniques. I am almost never without my dog, a good snack, and a pen.

Areas of Focus
My work often centers people who’ve tried so hard to do things the “right” way, only to find themselves overwhelmed, disconnected, or aching for something more real. These are some of the themes I’m especially passionate about supporting. If your experience isn’t listed here, please know that you’re still so welcome and invited to bring whatever feels most present.
