About
Jenn is a queer, cis, small-fat, non-disabled, white settler who is practicing on the ancestral, unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples: Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor, having completed her Master of Counselling degree from City University's 'Vancouver' campus.
Jenn's approach is collaborative and adaptive, grounded in anti-oppressive and trauma-informed support. Jenn's practice draws upon narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, systems and parts work, and somatic (body-based) theories. She is honoured to bear witness and share time alongside folks, and strives to co-create an accessible, safe-enough space with you that is conducive to holistic healing. You can expect sessions that welcome all parts of you, are encouraging of your inner wisdom, explore safe sensory embodiment, and are tailored to your unique needs.
Her approach to counselling – and life – is to show up in full humanity, with warmth, curiosity, levity, and openness without judgment. She believes that our personal experience is political; placing our individual and collective healing within relational dynamics, systems, and culture. Her core values are based on intersectional feminism, fat liberation, queer celebration, anti-racism, and radical acceptance.
Jenn has experience working with complex grief and loss, depression/low mood, anxiety, body image/body-based oppression, self-esteem, illness diagnosis and death anxiety, navigating life changes, and diverse experiences of trauma. Jenn is also conversational in American Sign Language and has experience supporting folks with disabilities and neurodivergence through Equine-Assisted Therapy.
At this time, Jenn's professional focus is working with those who are navigating all forms of grief and loss, relationship to body/body image and esteem, life changes, and experiences of trauma. She welcomes bookings for adult individuals. In addition to counselling, Jenn offers hormone readiness assessments to trans and non-binary clients.
Jenn lives with her sweet rescue dog and delights in surprising loved ones with handwritten cards in the mail. She finds joy and healing in nature, dancing, reading, movies, tattoos/body art, drag, and exploring new places.
