Jessie, who also goes by Bian-Jie (本潔) is a first generation Taiwanese – Canadian clinical counsellor who is honoured to walk alongside her clients in their healing journey.
Jessie is non-disabled, cis-gender, immigrant, settler woman offering trauma-informed and anti-oppressive counselling services in the stolen, unceded land of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples or otherwise known as Greater Vancouver area.
Prior to becoming a clinical counsellor, Jessie’s experience focused on providing mental health support and employment counselling to folks struggling with mental health concerns and substance use. Jessie works towards meeting clients where they are and understands the role that trauma and oppression have on these experiences.
Jessie works alongside people navigating life transitions, feelings of isolation, experiences of oppression or marginalization, immigrants, and substance use concerns. She is passionate in her desire to accompany clients in their journey and views human connections as the key to healing. Jessie believes people are resilient and an active agent in their worlds. She uses a holistic Adlerian person-centered lens to support people in search of belonging, safety and connections. Jessie integrates a strength-based approach in working with clients in order to co-create a safe and welcoming space.
Jessie provides counselling sessions in English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese. She graduated from Adler University with Master of Counselling Psychology and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).
When she is not working, Jessie enjoys being in the outdoors, painting, knitting, re-watching tv shows with some delicious snacks.
