Ocean is a student counsellor currently completing their Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Ocean grew up on the lands of the W̱SÁNEĆ people and maintains a deep connection with those lands and waters.
In their work, Ocean values community healing, collaboration, cultural humility, and honoring the strength and resilience of those she works with. As a queer person, Ocean is passionate about serving 2SLGBTQ+ individuals through community engagement, advocacy, and gender affirming care. Ocean works to honor and uplift those in their journey of self discovery.
Having experience working with vulnerable and unhoused youth, Ocean is passionate about non-judgemental and strength-based approaches. Ocean has experience working alongside those experiencing family breakdown, substance use, life transitions, and more. Ocean’s work is informed by narrative, existential, humanistic approaches. Ocean honors her clients as experts of their experience, and views therapy as one of many valuable paths of healing.
With Ocean you can expect to be met with compassion, curiosity, humor and warmth. Working from a trauma-informed and attachment-informed lens, Ocean strives to co-create a safe and supportive environment with clients to explore their values, relationships and develop deeper meaning. Ocean comes to therapeutic relationships with genuineness, shared vulnerability and a passion for individual and community healing.
Outside of work, Ocean enjoys pursuing creative endeavors such as songwriting, jewelry making and painting, connecting with nature, and nurturing relationships with their family and friends.
