About
Bethany (she/her) is a queer adopted settler of Chinese ancestry living on the unceded traditional territories of the K’ómoks First Nation, commonly known as Comox Valley, Vancouver Island. As a counsellor, Bethany is constantly inspired by her clients’ ability to move from places of pain and trauma to wisdom, connection, and self-compassion. She’s dedicated to accompanying you on your journey, however it unfolds.
Bethany’s counselling approach is relational and rooted in attachment theory. She cares deeply about her clients and believes unconditionally in the tenacity and resilience of the human spirit and in your capacity for agency and healing. Bethany honours your inner healing intelligence and all your ways of knowing. She draws on cognitive, emotional, spiritual, ancestral, and somatic healing processes.
Bethany works with individuals from all walks of life and offers trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, feminist, person-centred, and collaborative care. She understands that many of your challenges are caused by or exacerbated by oppressive systems of power, and she works to support you within the context of your life.
When not working, Bethany enjoys hugging trees, climbing rocks, playing piano, and spending time with friends. She can mostly be found out in the forests or on the beach.
