About
Harmony (she/they) is a queer, transfem, white settler on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓ əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. She is neurodivergent and lives with chronic pain.
Harmony believes that healing is something that happens through relationships built on mutual respect, and collaborative consent, which allows us to live lives embodied in our own authenticity. Her areas of interest and life experience include gender affirmation/exploration, transmisogyny, transphobia, religious trauma, disordered eating,
disability, and social anxiety.
Harmony prefers a client-centred approach as she values prioritising autonomy and empowering the client. Harmony sees knowledge as collaborative and understands that people learn more through lived experience than can be learned in a classroom or by reading a book. She sees each person as the expert on themself and believes that each person already has the answers they are seeking. By building trust with the client, Harmony will work with you to illuminate these answers.
The modalities that resonate the most with Harmony are Internal Family Systems (or parts work) and somatic therapy. They work from an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and intersectional perspective. They refrain from offering unsolicited advice and seek to empower each client by providing them with the tools that they need to thrive. Harmony
strives to be flexible, creative, and ultimately responsive to the client’s needs.
Harmony has a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She is currently a pre-licensed counsellor in the process of certification with the BC Association of Counsellors (BCACC) to become a Registered Clinical Counsellor. In her spare time, she finds joy in drawing, making zines, collage, music, and makeup. For her, art is essential for life.
