studying, practicing, and raising her family on the traditional and unceded territories of the
səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and xʷməθkʷəy̓ əm (Musqueam)
peoples. Jayne is a student counsellor completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology
at Yorkville University.

Jayne is passionate about the therapeutic relationship and will provide a healing space that is
warm, welcoming, safe and respectful. Jayne is committed to the process of social justice. For
many years, Jayne has worked with marginalized populations, including Indigenous clients, sex
workers, homeless people and people who use substances.

Jayne works from an intersectional and transgenerational framework. Her approach to
counselling is strengths-based, collaborative, culturally informed, trauma-informed, and
unbiased. As a student counsellor, Jayne’s practice is guided by humanistic, narrative, solution-focused, and emotion-focused informed approaches. In the therapeutic space, Jayne sees her clients as experts in their own lives. She sees her role as a collaborative partner, supporting clients to heal, grow, and live their best lives by deconstructing their unhelpful stories, thoughts, and emotions.

Jayne looks forward to working with adult and youth clients. Jayne is passionate about creating a welcoming and safe space for BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ clients. Areas of professional interest include depression, anxiety, and family and relationship counselling.
