About
I believe therapy goes beyond just talk, a chance to explore parts of ourselves that have been shut away in order to make it through the day. If you choose, I would love to start this journey with you and explore what is needed to work towards healing and growth.
I am a non-disabled, cisgender, South Asian immigrant woman offering counselling services in Vancouver, BC. I was born in Bangladesh and raised in Toronto, specifically Scarborough. I recently moved over to Vancouver to step away from my comfort zone and explore life surrounded by mountains. I bring my full self into my practice, identities, quirks and all.
I work on implementing an anti-oppressive, client-entered, and trauma informed lens. I often weave narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and play therapy into my practice. As I come from a cultural background which has limited knowledge around mental health, I am really passionate about psychosomatics, understanding and integrating the body into therapeutic practice. I have and currently work with current and former youth in care, queer/trans folk and folks exploring different relationships.
Some of the topics we might be able to navigate together include life transitions, anxiety, depression, relational struggles, sexuality, and trauma.
Outside of the therapy world, I am at the gym trying to build my squat, running to catch sunsets, cooking, and listening to 2000s r&b on repeat.
