About
Tessa is a cisgender, heterosexual, non-disabled, second-generation Chinese Canadian woman living and working on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
She brings over eight years of experience working with children, youth, and adults of various backgrounds and abilities. This includes individuals impacted by developmental disabilities, substance use, intergenerational trauma, racialization, identity, and mental health concerns. Tessa is passionate about working with individuals who may be struggling with relationship challenges, life transitions, identity, anxiety, low self-esteem, and family conflicts.
Tessa is committed to collaboratively working with each client to explore and understand their thoughts, values, and perspectives – actively striving towards positive change. With lived experience navigating complexities within her own life, Tessa understands the discomfort therapy can bring. To ensure all her clients feel safe, supported, and validated, Tessa brings patience, care, humour, warmth, non-judgement, and empathy into all sessions.
In a world where so much is out of our control, Tessa wants her clients to feel empowered in the aspects of their lives they can control.
In her free time, Tessa enjoys watching movies, spending time in nature, trying new recipes, and spending time with friends and family.
